The People's Say : Government, politics & elections in Australia

The current display showcases some of the library's resources on government and politics in Australia. As the election approaches it may be timely for students to gain a better understanding about how Australia's government is elected.
For students interested in researching on the internet, TAFE Studylinks has a category on Government & Politics with links to Government sites in Australia.

New Database - Computers and Applied Sciences Complete

One of the new databases available through Ebsco is “Computers and Applied Sciences Complete”.

All you need to access this database is your Tafecard number beginning with 25555.
There are some interesting articles available on this database, for example a recent search for information about Searchmash.com found an article by Mary Ellen Bates about 2 new Beta search engines, Searchmash.com and Msdewey.com.

Try these new beta search engines for yourself at https://webmail.tafensw.edu.au/exchweb/bin/redir.asp?URL=http://www.searchmash.com/ and https://webmail.tafensw.edu.au/exchweb/bin/redir.asp?URL=http://www.msdewey.com/.

SydNet Orientation

The Library is conducting short orientation sessions on the new SydNet for College staff. These sessions are being held in the Blended Learning Centre during the lunch period and the aim is to outline the structure and main features of the website.
One of the main changes has beeen the design of the website to reflect the organisation's business processes and the communication of corporate knowledge.
